2010 BMW X1 Buying Advice

BMW calls the 2010 X1 a Sports Activity Vehicle. That’s a takeoff on Sport Utility Vehicle and intends to emphasize sporty fun over trucky function. By any name, the 2010 BMW X1 is a small station wagon with a long, tall roof, raised seating position, and slightly elevated suspension. Think four-fifths scale BMW X3 SUV. Indeed, where the X3 is based on BMW’s renowned 3-Series car line, the X1 grows out of its subcompact 1-Series cars. As the “X” implies, it belongs to BMW’s family of X6, X5, and X3 car-based crossovers…err, Sport Activity Vehicles.

Should you wait for the 2010 BMW X1? As of this writing, BMW had not announced precisely when the X1 would go on sale, or if it would debut in U.S. showrooms as a 2010 or 2011 model. More details on that below, but judging from the X1 concept unveiled in late 2008, the production X1 will boast the undiluted essence of BMW, with lines far more graceful than those of the stubby 1-Series cars. Bet on purebred BMW power and suspension tuning, too. This will help set the X1 apart from a slew of impending rivals in the rapidly expanding premium subcompact crossover class. Any BMW is priced at the upper end of its segment, and the X1 likely will be as well, but if you’re itching to get into one of these new crossovers and you’ve got the scratch, it’ll be worth waiting for.

iPhone 5′s Display to Be Smaller than 4 Inches

If the newest rumors are true, and the new iPhone will get a 3.5-3.7 inch display, then it may be possible that we’ll actually only see a 4S this Fall, but if they do come out with a 4.2 inch screen, the iPhone 5 will look a lot different than the current 3.5 inch display iPhone 4 and will be on par with most current smartphones.
It also looks like the back side design will be changed. The current reinforced glass chassis will be changed to a metal one.

Just like with any other rumor out there, no one can tell for sure how the iPhone 5 will look like, what its capabilities will be, or who will carry it besides AT&T and Verizon. Hopefully, the latest rumored release date, October 7th, will prove to be true. Until then, we can only hope that Apple will make the right decision and bring us an iPhone that will rival any other smart phone currently on the market.

When you have any of the 3D tools active, you can turn on 3D overlays from the bottom of the 3D panel to view the 3D Axis (the widget for manipulating meshes, lights, and cameras), light widgets, material and mesh bounding boxes, and a ground plane. Go to Photoshop (PC: Edit)>Preferences>3D to change overlay settings. To use the 3D Axis for meshes, lights, or cameras, select the right tool to invoke the 3D Axis for that property. For example, when you select one of the 3D Light tools in the 3D (Lights) panel and click on a light widget, the 3D Axis will now rotate and move the selected light.
